Restorative Yin yoga class

Our luxury yoga retreats in Egypt will be held in beautiful Soma Bay, Egypt’s premier luxury destination and best kept secret on the Red Sea – a little beach paradise still relatively undiscovered and a perfect destination for a week of yoga and relaxation. We’ll practice yoga twice a day by the sea and stay at the 5* Kempinski hotel, voted the Red Sea’s top luxury hotel with a gorgeous private beach and wonderful spa, spacious seaview rooms, right next to a lovely marina. Soma Bay offers plenty of activities from sailing, diving and snorkeling, kitesurfing and golfing – all right near the hotel.

Our groups are small and we welcome solo travelers – many participants come on their own so we often have dinner together and offer up things do things as a group for those who want to join in. We don’t have any rules on food and drinks, we love to spoil ourselves with massages and pampering, and we truly enjoy the holiday part as much as the yoga part.

Our yoga classes are suited for all levels and our wonderful yoga teacher will modify poses so everyone can go at their own pace. We practice on a peaceful spot facing the sea. Morning classes are based on Vinyasa flow and are energetic, while evening sunset classes are based on Yin yoga and are restorative with a deeper final relaxation (a super special treat!). We’ll have yoga classes every day except for Tuesday morning (the fourth day) so everyone has some free time to take a boat trip or a day excursion, or just sleep in a bit. We plan day activities and dinners, but everything is optional, you can join the group whenever you like or spend some time relaxing on your own.

Soma Bay has wonderful restaurants with delicious healthy food and we’ll try out a few as a group – we eat what we like and also enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. The weather in May and October is perfect – very warm and sunny, not humid, and ideal for practicing yoga outside and going for a swim in the sea.

Our Egypt yoga retreat will take place at the stunning 5* Kempinski Hotel:

If you're looking for absolute luxury  – this is it. The Kempinski hotel is unanimously considered the most exclusive and luxurious hotel on Egypt's Red Sea, with a picturesque series of pools, lagoons and waterfalls flowing down to an immaculate white sandy beach. Built in the style of an ancient Moorish fortress, it mixes contemporary décor and European flair with warm Egyptian hospitality and faultless attention to detail. The hotel's customer service is second to none, and the feeling of tranquility and peace is heavenly.

The large seaview rooms have private balconies with splendid views of the Red Sea. Internet is included, as is a complementary soft minibar in your room refilled once a day, and free access to the gym, sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi and health club pool.

For your free time in between yoga classes, the Kempinski has a Leisure Program with many organized activities and classes you can join from beach volleyball, guided snorkeling trips, acqua gym, intro classes to golf and tennis, and a fun Arabic cooking class. And the friendly staff will happily arrange any service you need including boat trips and day excursions to nearby sites. If all that sounds like too much, the high-end spa offers a wide range of amazing treatments as an alternative.

The hotel has five Food & Beverage options, including a seafood restaurant, a pan-asian restaurant, and traditional Egyptian cuisine.

Soma Bay is Egypt's most upscale and selective beach resort on the Red Sea – a world of difference from the busy commercial centers of Sharm-el Sheikh and Hurghada:

The exclusive holiday destination of Soma Bay features some of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the Red Sea with year round sunshine, and is home to a world-famous spa and golf course. The peninsula is surrounded on three sides by gorgeous blue waters and long beaches, featuring top-of-the-line hotels, a stylish marina, wind surfing, sailing and much more.

Somabay’s marina is one of the premier yachting marinas on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. By day, stroll through the marina’s peaceful alleys and courtyards, indulge in premium shopping, explore international delights at sea-side restaurants, or relax in its cafés. By night, venture a bit further to enjoy the nightlife.

One of Soma Bay's biggest attractions is the spectacular spa and thalasso center of Les Cascades, where the focus is on the health properties of mineral-rich seawater and seaweed – an experience not to be missed. The resort also offers world-class cuisine, from superb restaurants and stylish cafés to beach BBQs and seaside bars. After sunset, life in Soma Bay continues in various hotspots along the marina with a coffee or drink by the water's edge.

Soma Bay is immaculately maintained to preserve its upmarket feel and prides itself on environmental sustainability. It’s an extremely secure gated community attracting discerning upscale tourists from around the world, and the true embodiment of peace, luxury, and beauty.
