Pamper yourself on a luxury yoga retreat in Corfu.
Yoga Retreat in Corfu | May 2024
1–8 May 2024
We’re super excited about our newest yoga escape! We’re going back to the beautiful island of Corfu in Greece for a wonderful early summer yoga retreat at an exclusive 5* hotel, surrounded by nature and the gorgeous Ionian sea. The hotel is located on a stunning peninsula with private beaches and coves, just a short boat ride along the coast into Corfu town with its pedestrian streets and lovely squares – the best of both worlds.
We’ll stay in renovated modern rooms with views out to sea, the luxury hotel has three private beaches, several pools, and a wonderful spa. We’ll go sailing and explore the island, with plenty of solo time to sit back and read a book by the pool and soak up all that glorious sunshine. The weather in May is already warm and feels like summer.
Liz Joubert our yoga teacher will teach two yoga classes a day, she’ll challenge you but will also give you modifications so you can practice at your own pace. All yoga levels are welcome, from beginners to yoga teachers.
We’ll be there with the group to show you around and take care of all the logistics, we’ll plan day trips and group dinners but everything is optional, this is not bootcamp! We love good food and enjoy wine with dinner, we don’t mind if you sleep in, and we don’t have strict rules and restrictions. We enjoy really good yoga and a really nice holiday with like-minded people.

Luxury Accommodation
5* Grecotel Corfu Imperial
We’re hosting our yoga retreat in Corfu at the stunning 5* Grecotel Corfu Imperial – a gorgeous luxury hotel perched at the end of the panoramic Kommeno peninsula surrounded by sea and beaches, recently refurbished to the highest standards. We’ll be staying in large Deluxe Seaview rooms with spacious terraces and views out to the bay.
The hotel has three private beaches with crystal clear waters, four pools, a high-end spa, as well as a sauna and a hammam.
There’s also a well-equipped gym with a personal trainer on site, TRX, fitness classes, mountain bikes, tennis, horse riding, water-sports, diving and snorkeling.
The hotel has several international restaurants including a fine-dining Greek restaurant, a seafood restaurant, an Italian trattoria, an Asian & Latin American Fusion restaurant, as well as a couple of cocktail bars with view out to sea.
Local Cuisine
The food in Corfu is delicious, prepared with fresh local ingredients and a large variety of flavors – and by some really great chefs! In addition to all the typical Greek dishes, you’ll also find grilled meat and fish, plenty of vegetarian options, salads, and local specialties of fish and meat dishes cooked in wine with fresh tomatoes, cinnamon, onions and different spices. Corfu also has some very nice wines which pair very well with these dishes.
Eat and drink what you like
You can eat and drink what you like on our yoga retreats – we don’t have any restrictions, in fact we encourage you to try out different dishes. There are plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free or if you have a specific dietary need – we’re very mindful of that.
We’ll have a large buffet breakfast after yoga, with many choices including eggs, pancakes and toasts, fruit juices, veggies, fresh fruits and cheeses, yoghurts. This keeps us going for most of the afternoon, but some people enjoy a light lunch or afternoon snack. We’ll plan a group dinner at a different restaurant each evening in Corfu town or by the sea.
The buffet breakfast / brunch is included in the price. We purposefully didn’t include snacks and dinners so everyone can decide what they like to eat and spend accordingly, rather than have pre-set dinners at the hotel which would be more expensive. You only pay for what you eat and drink, there are many nice restaurants and they’re very reasonably priced.
Where we are going
Where is the yoga retreat located?
Our yoga retreat is located on the lovely island of Corfu in the Ionian Sea, famous for its beaches, charming town, breathtaking scenery, mountain ranges and olive trees (see Corfu on a map). It has everything to offer from quite secluded coves to a bustling town.
The Grecotel Corfu Imperial hotel is located on the stunning Kommeno peninsula in the northern part of the island – a lovely spot right on the coast with beaches and swimming holes nearby, and just a few minutes drive or boat ride into Corfu town. There are many things to do around the island – sailing, hiking, cycling, shopping, or just lounging on a beautiful beach. We’ll show you around.
About Corfu town
Corfu town is a gorgeous pedestrian maze to explore and get lost – it’s not far from the hotel so you can wander in one afternoon for shopping and sightseeing. It’s known for its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored Venetian architecture and old fortress. It also has a beautiful promenade along the sea and has many shops, bars and restaurants.
The old town strongly resembles an Italian city due to the influence of the Venetians who controlled the island for over four centuries. We’ll stroll into town several times during the week for dinner, walk along the promenade and cobbled streets.
What yoga means to us
Yoga is at the heart of our retreats, and we offer the real deal. You’ll definitely get a good workout, but the goal of the physical practice is to challenge you physically so you can begin to let go and quiet the mind. That’s what yoga is all about – calming the mind. And that’s what we teach on our yoga retreats. You will feel re-energized and restored both physically and mentally.
Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga
We offer two yoga classes a day on our yoga retreat in Croatia: a morning Vinyasa flow class to get your heart going, and a slower Yin class in the afternoons. Both classes are suitable for all levels.
Your yoga teachers and host
Liz Joubert
Liz Joubert is the teacher on our yoga retreats in Corfu. She’ll teach a dynamic Vinyasa flow class in the mornings, and a slower Yin yoga class in the afternoons.
She will modify classes for all levels so you can practice at your own pace, and will also offer more challenging poses toward the end of the week, so you’ll definitely see an improvement in your own practice.
Laura will also be there on every retreat to make sure everything runs smoothly and to plan day trips and group dinners.

Getting to Corfu
Corfu can be reached by airplane, look for flights to Corfu International Airport. There are direct flights from many U.K. and European cities, or take a connecting flight via Athens, look at Aegean Airlines. The hotel is 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. Once we have everyone’s flight details, we will put you in touch to share a taxi with others arriving at the same time.
Plan to arrive at some point on the 1 May, we’ll have a group dinner that evening for those who can make it, and yoga classes will start the next morning. The last class will be on the afternoon of the 7 May, and people will leave throughout the day on the 8 May.
You can use the hotel facilities or go to the beach or pool if you arrive before check-in or leave after check-out.
