Yoga Retreat in Mykonos | June & September 2024
2024: 1–8 June | 8–15 June | 31 August–7 September | 7–14 September
And we don’t think you need to deprive yourself on a yoga retreat – yoga is at the core of our trips, but we like to enjoy a nice break at the same time. No waking up at dawn, no strict rules on food and drinks, you can skip a yoga class, and you can spend time with the group or on your own – most people do a bit of both.
We’ll stay at a gorgeous 5* hotel on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mykonos, and we’ll practice yoga on our terrace with views out to sea. We’ll enjoy delicious meals and spa treatments, and we’ll plan day trips and group dinners. But everything is optional – completely up to you.
Mykonos is the quintessential Greek island, we’ve been coming back every summer for over 20 years and have been hosting yoga retreats there for 10 years. We know it well and we’ll be there to show you the nicest corners!

What to expect
Our yoga teachers and yoga classes are top-quality – that’s the main focus of our yoga retreat in Mykonos. But we appreciate that you’re also looking for some downtime and a chance to relax. So we have no rules, we’re completely flexible with everything, and you can decide how you want to spend your time, no strict schedules to follow. We’ll be there to make sure everything runs smoothly.
We have people coming from various countries around the world, and many people join us on their own. We create a warm friendly atmosphere so everyone feels welcome from the start. We’ll practice yoga twice a day – Liz Joubert will teach an active Vinyasa flow class in the morning and an afternoon Yin yoga class. All yoga levels are welcome, even beginners.

Luxury Accommodation
5* Myconian Imperial Hotel
We’re hosting our yoga retreats in Mykonos at the 5* Myconian Imperial Hotel & Thalasso Spa – a luxury hotel with superior service and a member of The Leading Hotels Of The World.
The hotel is located directly on Elia beach and an easy commute into town, with free shuttle service throughout the day and night. It’s been completely renovated to an impeccably high standard.
There’s a private beach, a thalasso-therapy center with a treatment on us, outdoor and indoor pools, a sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, aromatherapy services, massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. The spa has been voted as one of the top in Greece – definitely worth a treat.
We’ll stay in spacious Premium Seaview rooms – all have been renovated, with housekeeping twice a day, and balconies with gorgeous sea views of Elia bay. We check the rooms before you arrive to make sure you get nice ones! There are also several restaurants including a fine-dining Greek restaurant, poolside lunch service, a sushi restaurant, and a cocktail bar.
Local Cuisine
Mykonos is famous for its delicious food – from high-end restaurants to casual family-run tavernas with wonderful local ingredients. We’ve been to many of them over the years and have our favorite ones, and we’ll be there to plan group dinners so you can try them out.
There’s always something for everyone – from veggie dishes to fresh fish and grilled meat, and all sorts of Greek specialties.
Eat and drink what you like.
We don’t have any rules when it comes to food a drink, and we don’t have set menus. You can eat what you like, you can have wine or a cocktail, it’s all part of the holiday. Some people who join us are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free – we’ll make sure there are options for all dietary needs.
We’ll have a large buffet breakfast together after yoga – omelets, yoghurt and honey, toasts, fruit juices, fresh fruits and veggies, and so much more. Some people enjoy a light lunch or afternoon snack.
We’ll plan a group dinner each evening, we’ll go into Mykonos town some evenings or stay nearby the hotel.
The buffet breakfast / brunch is included in the price.
We didn’t include snacks and dinners so everyone can decide what they like to eat and spend accordingly, rather than have pre-set dinners at the hotel which would be more expensive. You only pay for what you eat and drink, there are many nice restaurants and they’re very reasonably priced.
Where we are going
Where is the yoga retreat located?
Our yoga retreat in Mykonos is located on stunning Elia beach (see map), one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Our 5* hotel is directly on the beach, and we have a separate private section with sunbeds and umbrellas in a quiet spot. The hotel is also close to Mykonos town, about a 15-minute drive (there’s a hotel shuttle bus), and Ano Mera town is just up the street.
We’ll practice yoga on a terrace under the shade of a little white church with views out to sea – it’s wonderful. And there’s plenty to do around Mykonos – all sorts of watersports, horseback riding, sailing, shopping, and boat trips to nearby islands.
It’s easy to get to – there are direct flights to Mykonos from several European cities, and also several flights a day from Athens.
About Mykonos
Mykonos is known worldwide for its jet-setting crowd, but there’s so much more to this lovely island. We know it well and will be happy to give you all sorts of recommendations.
There are over 20 gorgeous beaches, as well as a charming town – a maze of narrow streets and white-washed houses right by the sea. It’s quiet during the day, perfect for boutique shopping. And in the evening, the town comes alive with people strolling the streets and sitting outside the restaurants and cafés. The sunset overlooking the famous Little Venice near the windmills is magical – another must.
Mykonos has delicious restaurants, and for those who have extra energy, there are cozy cafés to outdoor bars by the sea. We’ll go dancing one evening for those who want to experience the Mykonos nightlife!
What yoga means to us
Yoga is at the heart of our retreats, and we offer the real deal. You’ll definitely get a good workout, but the goal of the physical practice is to challenge you physically so you can begin to let go and quiet the mind. That’s what yoga is all about – calming the mind. And that’s what we teach on our yoga retreats. You will feel re-energized and restored both physically and mentally.
Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga
We offer two yoga classes a day on our yoga retreat in Mykonos: an active morning Vinyasa flow class to get you going, and an afternoon Yin yoga class. Both classes are suitable for all levels.
Your yoga teacher and host
Liz Joubert is the teacher on our yoga retreats in Mykonos. She will teach a dynamic Vinyasa flow class in the mornings, and a slower Yin yoga class in the afternoons.
She will modify classes for all levels so you can practice at your own pace, and will also offer more challenging poses toward the end of the week, so you’ll definitely see an improvement in your own practice.
Laura will also be there on every retreat to make sure everything runs smoothly and to plan day trips and group dinners. She knows Mykonos well and will be happy to show you around.

A Typical Day
We’ll practice yoga twice a day, with plenty of time to relax on the beach, take a day trip, and indulge at the spa:
Activities & Excursions
There’s plenty to do in between yoga classes:
Take a boat trip to Delos island and discover one of the greatest centers of Greece’s past – full of history and culture. The excursion can be done in one day.
Mykonos streets are lined with boutique shops ranging from hand-made jewelry to brand names. They’re open all day and some past midnight.
Windsurfing and kitesurfing, scuba-diving, parasaling and water skiing – all options available close to our hotel. Or spend the afternoon on a sailing trip around the island.
Pamper yourself with a massage at the spa, detoxify in the steambath or jacuzzi and enjoy a thalasso-therapy treatment on us.
Stroll around Mykonos town
Explore the hidden beauties of Mykonos town and its narrow streets, sit at a café by the harbor, or wander into an art gallery.
Discover the many beaches on this beautiful island and go for a refreshing swim in between yoga classes.

What people are saying
Here’s a blog post about our Mykonos yoga retreat by one of our yogis.
In the words of Nicole:
“After a yoga retreat like this, you’ll be tempted to add “spoiling oneself” to the list of life’s necessities!”
Nicole, May 2018
Getting to Mykonos
Plan to arrive at some point on Saturday, we’ll have a group dinner that evening for those who can make it to meet each other, and yoga classes will start the next morning. The last yoga class will be on Friday evening and people will leave throughout the day on Saturday, you can stay as long as you like and enjoy a full last day in Mykonos!
If you wish to arrive earlier or stay longer, please let us know, we can help arrange that with the hotel. Once in Mykonos, your transfer to the hotel will be waiting to meet you at the airport or port.
Mykonos can be reached either by airplane or boat. Flights or boats to Mykonos are not included in the price, the transfer from the airport or the port to the hotel (and back) is included in the price.
By Air:
Mykonos has an international airport. If direct flights are not available, an alternative is to fly to Athens and then take an internal flight to Mykonos on Aegean Airlines or Vueling Airlines (a quick 30 minute flight). We strongly suggest booking your flights in advance – airline prices increase substantially closer to the dates.
By Boat:
There are daily fast catamaran boats from the port of Rafina (closest to Athens airport). The trip takes approximately two hours. There are also boats from port of Piraeus in Athens city center: from here the trip takes approximately 5 hours by ferry, or 3-4 hours by high-speed boat. For all boat schedules visit the Greek Travel Pages website.
